The Walkerburn Community led plan publishedThe community plan document has now been published and delivered to every household in the village along with the July edition of Burning Issues Weekly crafts sessions in WalkerburnThere is now a great opportunity to learn a new skill or just practice something you enjoy in good company. Walkerburn's future, your vision, our planA meeting of over 40 Walkerburn residents took place on 1st May in the Walkerburn Rugby Club to discuss the results of the community survey which took place earlier in the year. Borders Walking Festival 2010The 16th Borders Walking Festival will take place from 4th to 12th September. There is a wide range of walks planned for all abilities. Many of these will be in the Walkerburn area. Watch this space for more information or go to www.borderswalking.com . The festival is being organised by a consortium of local groups including the East Tweeddale Pathways Group. Walkerburn Allotments UpdateWalkerburn awarded over £6500 to take allotments development forward. Despite the difficult weather a good turn out for the public meeting earlier in January gave the plan for allotments a warm response. It is clear from the response that the project is popular. Funding Success for Climate Change projectsFunding has been awarded for a worker to develop projects within the EH43 area that will reduce carbon emissions and increase community awareness of the issues of climate change. |
